Shopping in Union Square in San Francisco
The two main shopping areas are Union Square and Fisherman’s Wharf. The Union Square area offers a wide variety of department stores, shops and designers boutiques. The department stores are generally open 7 days a week from 10 AM until late in the evening. Some of the stores downtown are closed on Sundays.

Two blocks south of Union Square, at 865 Market Street, is the chic Westfield San Francisco Centre with more than 400 stores including the elegant department stores Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom .

The shopping centers at Fisherman’s Wharf are: PIER 39 , Ghirardelli Square, and the Anchorage. They are open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM.

The shops in Chinatown open daily at 10.30 AM, and some stay open until 10 PM.

Outlets are large shopping centers where it is possible to find famous American brands at wholesale or discounted prices. They are generally located outside the city limits and it is necessary to rent a car to visit them. The Premium Outlets are near famous tourist destinations like Napa or Monterey.
